To celebrate and uplift those who dedicate themselves to this cause, the Ministry of Home Affairs proudly invites nominations for the Sardar Patel National Unity Award 2025 — India’s highest civilian honor for promoting national integration.

About the Award

Instituted in the name of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India who unified the nation post-independence, this award recognizes exceptional individuals or institutions whose work has significantly contributed to strengthening the fabric of a united India.

Whether through civic leadership, cultural integration, education, social activism, or governance, this prestigious recognition honors those who rise above boundaries to build bridges — and inspire others to follow.

Who Can Be Nominated?

  1. Any Indian citizen, institution, or organization
  2. Must have made notable contributions to national unity and integrity
  3. Self-nominations are welcome
  4. Nominations can also be submitted by:
  • Citizens of India

  • Institutions and organizations

  • State/UT Governments

  • Central Ministries

What Does the Award Include?

While this is not a monetary award, recipients will receive:

  • A gold and silver lotus-leaf-shaped medal

  • A citation from the President of India

  • National-level recognition as a guardian of India’s unity and integrity
