To spotlight and honour these change-makers, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Government of India invites applications for the National Awards 2025. These prestigious recognitions celebrate outstanding contributions toward the empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) through inclusive education, accessible environments, employment, rehabilitation, and progressive policymaking.
Award Categories Include:
* Best Institution for Empowering PwDs (NGOs/Private Organizations)
* Best Employer & Placement Agency for PwDs
* Best Accessible ICT/Transport Systems
* Best Implementation of the RPwD Act & UDID Schemes
*Best Commissioner/State/District for Disability Inclusion
Presented every year on December 3rd, coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, these awards are a symbol of national gratitude and encouragement
📌 Eligibility:
Open to NGOs, private institutions, government bodies, employers, training centres, and state/district entities—each with specific criteria under the Societies Act, Trust Act, or Section 8 of the Companies Act.
While there’s no monetary prize, the recognition, certificate, and shield serve as a powerful endorsement of an institution’s commitment to equity and inclusion.
